What to Expect During a Dental Check Up

During a dental check up at Pure Dental, your dentist performs a comprehensive examination of your teeth, gums, and entire mouth to identify any signs of dental problems. The process usually begins with a detailed visual inspection to look for tooth decay, signs of gum disease, and other oral health concerns. Keeping on top of your dental checkups can improve your oral health and keep your mouth healthy for years to come.

To ensure nothing is missed, we may take digital X-rays to detect issues such as cavities between teeth or problems beneath the gum line that are not visible during a standard exam. Your routine dental appointments also include a screening for general health, including oral cancer, a review of any existing dental work, and a discussion about your oral health goals, concerns, or necessary treatments.

Your dental check ups are always tailored to your unique needs. While most patients are advised to schedule a dental check up every six months, we may recommend more frequent visits if you have ongoing gum disease, repeated tooth decay, or other risk factors.

Regular dental check ups are the best way to maintain a healthy smile and address potential problems before they require more complex treatment.
