Dentist Conor O'Kane

Conor O’Kane

GDC No: 230570

Conor qualified from the University of Sheffield in 2012. He completed his dental foundation training in Newport, Wales and then stayed in South Wales as a dental associate for a few years. Working in this area exposed Conor to many high-need patients and he soon realised the importance of full mouth dentistry. Patients needed multi-faceted treatment plans and having the skills and knowledge to deliver them became a priority for Conor. This led him to seek out more education in restorative dentistry, orthodontics, TMJ dysfunction and oral surgery.

Dr Ian Buckle is a very well-respected educator and has created a course to make practitioners more well-rounded.

Conor then moved to London where he began to provide Invisalign (straightening of the teeth with clear aligners) for his patients and still does today. This gave him much more scope for treating cosmetic cases and delivering patient driven results.

In 2017 Conor moved to Australia to sample dentistry on the other side of the world and to enjoy those beautiful beaches. It was here where his passion for occlusion (how the teeth come together) began. He progressed his knowledge in this field with advanced courses in Canada and the UK with world class educators. This allowed him to treat complex cases which he has thoroughly enjoyed.

As an all-rounder, Conor loves the high variability that general dentistry gives him. He strives to meet patient needs in a conservative and caring manner and his relaxed approach always keeps patients at ease.

Conor swapped the Aussie beaches for Cornish ones in 2022 when he joined the Pure Dental Team. He loves to surf and does this when he can although his daughter’s arrival in 2021 has reduced the frequency of this.
