OUR DENTAL TEAM WILL WORK TO SAVE THE TOOTH
Endodontics
Providing high-quality Endodontic treatments to clients throughout Devon and Cornwall. With the use of one of Cornwall’s only Microscopes giving up to 25X magnification. That is like seeing a pin head the size of a 50 pence piece.
Where some dentists may remove a tooth due to an infected root canal, a dentist with endodontic training can undertake further procedures to try and save the tooth. In short, our dental team will work to save the tooth that most others probably would have given up on.
Our dentists have a passion for this type of dentistry and, combined with years of education and experience, are able to save teeth that many others would simply remove. Diseases can occur both within the tooth and on the surrounding bones. These can be prevented or eliminated using a combination of comprehensive cleaning techniques which includes disinfecting the root canal. People often say that Endodontists gave them hope when they thought teeth loss was inevitable and at Pure, our team will always provide you with the best dental care possible, ensuring your comfort is maintained throughout.
Endodontic FAQ's
Leaving the tooth untreated or infected is likely to become increasingly painful as it comes into contact with hot and cold foods; chewing can also make this pain worse. Sometimes the pain can become continuous and may be accompanied by swelling. The longer the infection is left within your tooth, the lower the success rate of subsequent treatment becomes.
Removing the tooth (extraction):
If the tooth is removed, your body is easily able to remove any residual infection. You may then choose to leave the gap, or replace the tooth with an implant, bridge, or denture. Unfortunately, bridges can damage your other teeth and dentures often feel bulky. Missing a back tooth can affect your ability to chew and can put increased pressure on your remaining teeth, which could cause these to break or crack. Missing a front tooth could have a massive effect on your self confidence.
